Simon Hallam
Architectural Technician
Simon Qualified as an Architectural Technician in 1983 with an OND in Building Studies shortly followed by an HNC, he also holds an OND in Art and Design from Lincoln College of Art. Since then, Simon has had a varied career working on many differing type and scales of projects, including smaller scale domestic extensions, new build housing, industrial buildings up to large international commercial schemes.
Early projects included work on a luxury hotel and golf course, and as project leader on a new-build car dealership and associated petrol filling station. Whilst working for International Architects Benoy over a 15 year period, Simon has had the opportunity to work on some major retail projects, including Bluewater in Kent, The New Bullring and the YAS Island development in Abu Dhabi which has the F1 circuit, to name but a few.
Simon has a vast experience of working on concept designs of all scales, Masterplanning, Urban regeneration and has also worked in interior design.
Simon joined Guy Taylor Associates in 2019, and has experienced working on numerous, varied scale heritage projects, barn conversions and other interesting projects with sensitive planning circumstances.
Outside of Architecture, Simon enjoys painting and drawing as time allows, and has exhibited work in a number of galleries. Simon plays Golf occasionally, but five-a-side football is his passion. He has two miniature Dachshunds called Orla and Phoebe, who have become the substitute ‘children’.
Simon also loves music and plays drums and guitar.
